William is a Senior Research Radiochemist at the Molecular Imaging and Therapy Research Unit. His broad research expertise includes inorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and radiochemistry. His current research focus is on clinically relevant radiometals (89Zr, 68Ga, 45Ti, 44mSc and 64Cu). Specifically, he investigates novel production and isolation methods for radiometals, synthesis and characterisation of chelators for encapsulating radiometals and conjugation techniques between radiometal chelators and biological vectors (peptides, proteins and drug-like molecules).
Prior to joining SAHMRI in 2017, William was undertaking his post-doctoral training at University of Sydney, where he worked in a team that investigated bacterial and protein driven synthesis of siderophores and hydroxamates for radiopharmaceutical and anti-cancer applications.
