Mr D’Angelo, a Kokotha descendant from Central South Australia has an extensive background in Aged Care in South Australia, with much of his recent work relating to the delivery of home-based support services for older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Previous to his current position at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute, Mr D’Angelo was employed by the South Australian Government as a Senior Aboriginal Services Consultant and was responsible for leading the development and implementation of Domiciliary Care’s Aboriginal Services Strategy. In addition to his extensive background in Aged Care, he also has experience in working with Aboriginal people in Primary Health Care.
Mr D’Angelo is currently leading a Commonwealth-funded research project with a focus on models of care for older Aboriginal people, and has been involved in other research projects in South Australia.
