Personal profile

Public Profile

Nathan Harrison is a behavioural scientist, working on alcohol and other drugs (AOD) research in the SAHMRI Health Policy Centre.

The SAHMRI Health Policy Centre undertakes behavioural research and evidence synthesis to inform individual and population-level interventions, policy and legislation in public health. The Centre has programs of research in public health, specialising in tobacco control, alcohol consumption, obesity prevention and COVID-19.

Nathan has broad research experience focused on better understanding health and mental health needs – particularly for those affected by cancer, cardiovascular disease, and AOD use – and in developing and evaluating intervention aimed at higher-risk (occupational, demographic) population subgroups. He also works collaboratively with the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction at Flinders University. Nathan's interests extend to teaching research methodology for the behavioural sciences and psychological measurement, where he is highly experienced in online learning and undergraduate course coordination.
