Dr Agnes Vitry is a Senior Lecturer, UniSA:Clinical and Health Sciences. She is a Senior Research Fellow in the Australian Centre for Precision Health, located at SAHMRI. Her research focuses on three main areas:
- medicines policies: regulatory approval, promotion, funding and pricing of medicines. Her current research examines the quality of evidence and clinical benefit of cancer medicines assessed for funding in Australia;
- development and impact of comorbidities in cancer survivors. Her current research examines the impact of age and comorbidities on treatment choices and health outcomes in patients with colorectal cancer;
-consultancies for a number or organisations including the Australian Department of Health (Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) Post-Market Reviews), and the World Health Organization, to support the work of the WHO Expert Committee on Drug Dependence (ECDD). Her recent work involved documentation reviews and qualitative surveys in low and middle income countries to examine the potential impact of international scheduling of specific medicines.
Agnes is also a member of the Executive Committee Cancer Voices SA, the leading consumer advocacy organisation in South Australia. She is a consumer representative on a number of cancer research projects.
